| Sometimes, life leaves us only with memories. And wishes.
Here I stand in the dark face to face with myself, though im not staring at my present self... I'm staring at my past self. "Look at you" I think to myself "Your so happy... Cheerful... Nothing ever gets you down does it?" I pause... All my past reflection does is smile and stare at me... I get a little annoyed... "How can you be so happy all the time when you dont even have a reason to be happy? WELL!!! Answer me!!!" I yell as loud as I can shakeing my fist and along goes my body with it as well until I see out of the corner of my eye something I hadent seen for some time, my special neclace, it has my name engraved in it, made of fine silver, I then rememeber where I got that paticular neclace... my long deceased Grandmother... the one person who I always turned to... the one person who left me with such great memories... Ice Cream... Swings... Milkshakes... her cooking and her wonderful stories... all gone through one mistake... she had to cross the street... she didnt know where that truck came from... then I felt it... the tears were coming... they stream down my face as my present self still stands there smileing "Why are you still there!!! you should be like me!!! you lost your grandmom too i know! It was 2 years ago, and why are you still Smileing!!!" I yell and scream feeling an odd combination of anger and sadness and tilt my head down faceing the floor... Then my present self picks my head up keeps my eye's focused on him as he uses his other hand to take out that same neclace "You always have a reason to be happy... because you have your memories to hold onto..." He says and then vanishes into the darkness. I crouch down looking at the necklace... I then wake up in my bed, I feel something cold in my left hand, I quickly look at it, open my hand and find... that necklace my grandmother gave to me... right before she died...
| This poem is to show no matter how long true friendships last forever...
Eternal Friendship
Black clouds cover the sky above a gloomy graveyard, rain is heavly pouring all around. A black car pulls to the side of the road out of the car comes a teenage male age of 16 dressed in a black trenchcoat and a black beanie upon is head holding something in his right hand. He walk's onto the grass and into the graveyard slowly passing all the gray, cracked grave stones. He comes accross a stone which reads "Beloved son, Beloved Friend" kneels next to it slowly bowing his head down... "Hey.." he says in a low voice "How've you been?... I've been holding out..." he pauses still stareing at the stone "I've been practiceing my free throws on the park basketball courts... you've always been better though... and they remodeled the court... it looks better..." he looks down at his closed hand with the item in it and looks back at the stone "Remember that time at the shore... we went far out in the ocean... and we got called in by the lifeguards..." Tears start to form in his eye's as the rain starts to soak his coat "Remember how I was real shy about going down the big hill on the sled I was just afraid I'd embaress myself... but you helped me do it, now i go down by myself..." Tears streem down his face dropping onto the ground infront of him "Remember when we promised eachother we'd be best friends forever well..." He opens up his hand and it has a string with 2 tags on them "This neclace had our names on it, together... I made one for myself" He pulls out his neclace tied to his neck which has the identicle tags on it "This one in my hand is for you... this will ensure we are friend forever... I'd wish you come back... I miss you..." He lays the necklace down infront of the grave "It's been too hard through this year... I hope to see you again..." He stands up rubs off his tears and walks back to his car as he drives away the rain stops... and a rainbow shoots accross the sky
